The Fox River & Countryside Fire Rescue District (FRCFR) invites applications for the position of Assistant Chief.

The position of Assistant Chief is a newly created, part-time employee of the Fire District.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to become part of the team leading our personnel in providing outstanding Fire and Emergency Medical services. If you have an exemplary history as an officer in the Fire and EMS service, we encourage you to explore this opportunity.

OUR COMMUNITY:

Fox River & Countryside Fire Rescue District provides Fire and EMS service to 25,000 residents in a 38 square mile area including unincorporated Saint Charles and Campton Townships, as well as portions of the Villages of Wayne, Campton Hills and South Elgin.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • The ideal candidate for the position of Assistant Chief with FRCFR will be a seasoned officer who has the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, work directly under the Fire Chief, closely with our employees, and many other community stakeholders.
  • In addition to these strengths, the District is seeking a capable leader with effective written and oral communication skills, a credible team-oriented leader, a person of integrity and a strong project manager.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • The ideal candidate shall have an associate degree in Fire Science, Paramedicine, Business or Public Administration, or other related field from an accredited college, or commensurate practical certification and progressive experience in Fire and EMS.
  • A minimum of ten years of full-time Fire and EMS experience, including significant experience as Lieutenant and Battalion Chief or higher.
