Position Details

The Mundelein Police Department is seeking a detail oriented, experienced dispatcher for the position of Telecommunications Supervisor.  This position is a civilian employee under the immediate supervision of the Director of Support Services.  This working supervisor will oversee the personnel and operation of the consolidated Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) whose function is to provide full police/fire dispatch services for the Mundelein, North Chicago, and Winthrop Harbor Fire and Police Departments.

Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent, with completion of some college level supervisory or management courses.  
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in performing public safety, police, fire, EMS dispatching duties.  
• Experience in Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), 911 telephone system, Records Management Systems (RMS).  
• Considerable knowledge of policies and procedures related to police, fire, Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), and emergency communication center.  
• LEADS Full-access and Emergency Medical Dispatch certifications required within the first 60 days of employment. 
• Two years of experience in supervisory role.  
• A high level of knowledge and understanding of all emergency 9-1-1 communication technologies, LEADS / NCIC, and GIS standards.
