Position Details

POLICE CHIEF for the City of Ketchikan, Alaska Police Department.

The City of Ketchikan is seeking an experienced police administrator to lead its department comprised of 36 employees with an annual operating budget of approximately $6 million.

The Police Chief is responsible for the planning, evaluation and implementation of department activities, programs and facilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
• FBI National Academy graduate or the equivalent of postgraduate work in police, public or business administration is desirable.
• Must meet minimum standards for police officers as set forth in AS 18.65.240; be able to obtain an Alaska Police Standards Council Advanced Certificate within one year from date of hire.
