Position Details

Kendall County Sheriff’s Office has a full-time opening for the position of Inspector General.

The purpose of the Inspector General will be to improve accountability and oversight for the services the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) provides to the community.  This is an independent civilian FLSA exempt position only reporting to the Sheriff, County Administrator and the County Board Chair.

The Inspector General (IG) would provide annual statistical analysis for the agency as related to internal investigations and inquiries.  The IG will also stay abreast of trends and training needs for the best practices related to agency investigations and accountability.  The IG will be utilized to complete other internal reviews and complete other administrative policy, training, and reporting analysis and documentation.

Requirements:

• Eligible candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or greater education degree.
• Previous experience in law enforcement, corrections and/or legal counsel experience is required.
• Candidate must possess basic Windows Office Suite knowledge, strong organizational and oral communications skills, and be familiar with working in a fast-paced professional environment.
• Candidate should have the ability to perform all assigned job duties both during and after regular business hours.

Hours:

Monday through Friday

8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Some hours may be outside of normal business hours.
