Position Details

This is an administrative managerial position responsible for overseeing the Communications Center operations, the supervision and the employees engaged in public safety dispatching, emergency call-taking, and emergency medical dispatching operations for the Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in Public Administration, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Public Health, Communications, Emergency Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or a Bachelor degree and four (4) years' experience in the above-mentioned areas
  • Work must also include at least two (2) years of staff supervisory or management experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
  • Telecommunicator experience in a public safety communications center, EMD Quality Assurance (EMD-Q) certification, Communications Unit Leader (COML), and Emergency Management experience preferred
  • Within one year of hire, must possess TIME certification (Crime Information Bureau)
