Position Overview
The Police Chief provides leadership and oversight of all operations of the Robins Police Department while also serving in a working-chief capacity, responding to calls for service and assisting medical and fire personnel as needed. The Chief is responsible for strategic planning, policy development, personnel supervision, budgeting, community engagement, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and professional standards. The position reports directly to the Mayor and operates under budgetary oversight of the City Council and City Clerk.

Physical & Professional Requirements
The position requires the ability to meet Iowa peace officer physical standards and perform essential law enforcement duties, including patrol, emergency response, defensive tactics, and use of firearms. The Chief must exercise sound judgment under stressful conditions, maintain confidentiality, and work independently with minimal supervision.
