    Position Details

    Provide a safe and secure environment for owners, guests, employees, and be able to manage the day to day responsibilities of the patrol and gatehouse operations. Also, assist and maintain a security staff that is trained and knowledgeable with regard to the resort security position, while assisting the Director of Security.

    Daily Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Security Director in reviewing all security logs, reports and conduct necessary follow ups as needed.
    • To ensure that the operation is properly staffed, equipment is operational and able to schedule/review daily tasks.
    • Must be available to take command of the Security Department during the Directors absense and conduct both patrol and gatehouse functions as needed.

    Weekly Responsibilities:

    Make schedule changes as needed, ensure binders and logs are updated.

    Monthly Responsibilities:

    • Must be able to attend Director of Security's meetings in his absence, AED checks, and review calender of scheduled responsibilities to be handles by shifts or officers to ensure it is current.
    • Able to oversee the 90 day training for all new officers
    • Ensure binders are cleaned and updated, to include S.O.P. 's, P&P, R&R etc.
    • Update and save computer files as needed, oversee distribution of reports and photographs.
    • Must be able to ensure officers SLED renewals are completed and sent in on time.
    • Able to work second shift as his primary hours, which require 45 hours per week minimum. 

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Able to oversee the bike racks to include removal from racks and storage at Fac. Serv. Yard.
    • Oversee all LTR entry issues.
    • Keep all masters updated.
    • Responsible for storage and destruction of all security created documents.
    • Responsible for Beach Bar alarm system and to include routine testing.
    • Will be required to work pre and post hurricane at the Security Director's discretion if an eviction is ordered.

    Educational Requirments:

    • High School diploma required, degree in law enforcement or related field preferred.
    • Prior law enforcement, military, or security expirience preferred, minimum 5 years.
    • Work history must include some responsibility with supervisor and training of personnel.

    Additional certifications, advanced training related to law enforcement / security.

    If already on staff, will be a supervisor or have one full year of experience. The Director reserves the right to promote someone with less time if they are most qualified and if it serves the best interest of the department.

    Must be SLED certified if not already certified.

    Work Authorization:

    Criminal History background check.

    Essential Skills:

    • Must be able to pass written test for SLED certification and renew each year.
    • Must be able to communicate well both verbally and/or in writing.
    • Must have knowledge of SC laws.
    • Must be able to lead other supervisors, officers and respond appropriately to issues that arise that are not part of our daily routine.
    • Must have competent knowledge of computer.
    • Have knowledge of the workings of all other depts. at the resort.
    • Certified in CPR, First Aid and AED.
    • Will be required to have knowledge of our camera system, computers system, sprinkler system and fire alarm system.
    • The Chief of Security should be someone who possesses the skills, experience, knowledge and interest in the Director of Security position in the event that position becomes vacant. 

    Supervisor Responsibilities:

    Supervises the Lieutenants and officers

    Position Type:

    Salaried position, required 45 hours per week minimum, assigned to second shift, schedule changes due to staffing issues or events.

    Physical Demands:

    • Requires long periods of standing and walking
    • Must be able to perform duties under extreme weather conditions.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
    • Must be in reasonably good physical condition and must be willing to be subject to potentially dangerous situations. 

    Environmental Conditions:

    • Will be working outdoors under all weather conditions.
    • Willing to return to the resort immediately after a hurricane evacuation
